37 : 83

2017-18
In 37 : 83, I have been exploring the emptiness of my Grandfather’s recently renovated house following his death late August 2016. I have been looking at the feeling of loss, and the idea that ‘home’ is found within family and not a physical structure.
Using 35mm film, I have photographed the interiors and exteriors of what used to be a home. I have also presented my work in a book, juxtaposing my images alongside photographs from my own family albums, pairing them by colour, tone or location. Ultimately, I want the viewer to relate to my work, and engage with their own memories.
37 : 83 was accompanied by a video instillation in exhibition, available to view
