After lifetime of being afraid of the sea, I found peace within waves. Inspired by artists and photographers such as Hokusai, Wolfgang Tillmans, Hiroshi Sugimoto and Fay Godwin, here I have photographed my biggest fear, but also my salvation.
​
Shot on 35mm black and white film, I have decided to document waves, particularly at breaking point. The body of water I have photographed is mirrored by the watermarks left on the negatives and the parallel horizon gives a visually pleasing image and a consistent series.
